Superiority of the Occlutech PFO: The Strength in the Numbers

The CLOSE study, as you know is the recent study using different PFO Occluders, occlusion showed important benefits in avoiding recurrence of stroke. Only big minus point is the elevated number of arrhythmias which were observed due to the devices or their implantations. It is likely that older (stiffer? bigger amount of material?) devices showed more of this effect.


There is a way to prove, that our device is better on this point. You can refer to the Italian comparative study by Trabattoni et al. Amplatzer vs. Figulla. This study shows equality in efficacy and safety, what is already a lot. But please have a look in further details, where Occlutech PFO shows advantages in many areas, especially in supraventricular arrhythmias (9% vs. 17%).

I point this out, because you can use the combination of both studies to point out the superiority of the Occlutech PFO.
